About Hurlcon

Australia's most trusted hydronic's supplier

Hurlcon began manufacturing gas pool heaters in the early 1990s, they quickly became one of Australia's leading suppliers of quality swimming pool heaters and spa products. An Australian owned and run company, it seemed only logical to use the expertise developed with water heating, gas combustion and fluid hydraulics as a common denominator between the pool and spa industry and the hydronic heating industry.

Since 1996, Hurlcon have proudly sold ThermaRad steel panel radiators as part of their hydronic offering.  This arrangement has seen ThermaRad become the longest continuously available radiator on the Australian market.

With growth in mind, Hurlcon acquired another iconic Australian company Hendy Manufacturing, which started trading in the mid 1960’s as a leading manufacturer of Australian designed and manufactured hydronic heating equipment. In 2001, Hurlcon relaunched as Hurlcon Heating.

Five years late, in October 2006, Hurlcon Heating was identified and acquired by the Spanish Multinational Group Fluidra, headquartered in Sabadell (Barcelona, Spain).  Fluidra currently has a presence in 38 countries by way of around 150 branches and has several production centres located throughout the world - including Melbourne Australia.

In keeping with our multinational global representation, Hurlcon became well placed to source the best products from around the world, with the advantage of long term partnerships with major manufacturers.

For 14 years Hurlcon manufactured quality Australian designed products for both the domestic and export market out of Melbourne, Australia.  The introduction of Hurlcon Solazar natural convectors , trench convectors, skirting convectors and fan convectors became some of the most innovative, precision engineered, quality hydronic products developed and produced here in Australia.

In 2020, Hurlcon Heating took the next step in it's success story. It was acquired by Australian owned and operated sustainable heating, cooking and hot water manufacturer, WISELIVING. With over 40 years experience in the hydronic industry, WISELIVING has bound well-established industry knowledge and their extensive product range together with Hurlcon Heating's existing catalogue.

Now trading as Hurlcon Hydronic Heating we are looking forward to raising the bar once again and continuing to exceed the expectations of our loyal and valued customers.

Why people put their trust in us

I would like to relate a very satisfying experience I have had with dealing with Hurlcon people in resolving my heating problem.
My Hurlcon boiler is a HW130 installed in 2005. It started to malfunction when the fan would not switch off as programmed. I had to go out each time to the power point at the unit and switch the power on for the heating and fan to come on, and then off to disable the fan.  Everything else worked OK as controlled by the thermostat.
I called a heating service repairer and was told that the circuit board was at fault, that the boiler is old and the likelihood of getting a replacement circuit board would be zero. He quoted me $7,490 (ex GST) for a similar capacity boiler to replace mine.
Well, all I wanted was for the fan to switch off, so I emailed Hurlcon to see if they could supply a circuit board. The HW130 unit has long been discontinued but the Hurlcon staff member Nick Frcek (National Operations Manager) wanted to help in me achieving the repair.
I sent him a photo of the circuit board but they did not have one in stock. I then asked Nick to refer me to someone who could give me a quote to replace my heater. I was quoted around $3,700 (I also had another quote for $4228). However, I was also told they may have a circuit board to suit. We exchanged photos and it was the same board!
We replaced the board but now the fan would not switch on. After checking this and that and putting the board back in and out again nothing, but they would not give up!
He checked the heat regulating switch located in a hard to get to position at the back of the boiler and found that it had tripped. He switched it back on, “prodded” the board where he thought he should, I switched on the thermostat again and everything worked as normal, including the fan.
My grateful appreciation goes to Nick for his commitment to serve a customer with honesty and to Steve, for his expertise,  persistence and sincerity. In the end the repair cost me $120.
